Been thinking about adopting a rescue instead of buying from a breeder. Any experiences with rescue birds in Ontario? What should I expect in terms of behavioral challenges? Which rescue organizations do you recommend?

My vet in Aurora suggested putting treats inside paper cups, folded paper, or tissue for foraging and I noticed a change within the first week. Highly recommend.

Totally agree with this! My green-cheek conure is exactly the same way.

How long have you had them? Sometimes it takes a while for birds to settle into a new home.

I respectfully disagree. I think it depends heavily on the individual bird. My Biscuit is the total opposite.

Which avian vet do you go to? I'm looking for a good one near Mississauga.
