How much should a blue and gold macaw eat daily?

I feel like my blue and gold macaw either eats like a truck or barely touches their food depending on the day. What's a normal amount? I free-feed pellets and offer fresh food twice a day. Am I doing this right?

Second vote for BST. They boarded my blue and gold macaw last summer and I could tell Jasper was well cared for when I picked them up. Total peace of mind.

I used to think the same thing until my blue and gold macaw proved me wrong. Now I'm firmly in the other camp.

I've tried a bunch of brands and Lafeber NutriBerries is hands down the best value. My Maple devours it.

Just wanted to come back and say the advice in this thread WORKED. My blue and gold macaw finally stopped being afraid of hands after I tried rearranging the cage every couple weeks to prevent boredom.
