Just wanted to give a shoutout to Bird Sitting Toronto. Left my budgie with them for 10 days while we visited family and Biscuit came home happy and healthy. They sent daily photo updates. Honestly the best experience. Highly recommend for anyone in Parkdale!

Hello! Been lurking on this forum for a bit and finally decided to make an account and participate. I've had my Indian ringneck Mochi for about 4 years now. Always nice to connect with other bird people in the GTA — most people I know think I'm crazy for having a bird lol. Excited to be here!

I used to think the same thing until my blue and gold macaw proved me wrong. Now I'm firmly in the other camp.

I'd suggest trying putting a bird lamp on a 12/12 timer to simulate natural daylight cycles. My avian vet recommended it and it made a huge difference.

If you're in Milton, check out the avian vet on Dundas St. They're amazing with parrotlet specifically.

I've tried a bunch of brands and Lafeber NutriBerries is hands down the best value. My Maple devours it.

I've done a ton of research on this because my budgie had the same issue. Here's what I learned: the most common cause is a subtle environmental change you might not even notice. What worked for us was target training first, then building up to step-up. I also started joining an online support group for lineolated parakeet owners and noticed improvement within a week. It's a process but it gets better.
