Hot take: parrotlet are actually easier than people think
I see SO many posts about how parrotlet are difficult birds. Honestly? After owning one for 10 years, I think they're one of the more manageable parrots IF you put in the time upfront. The key is consistency. Am I completely wrong? Fight me.
Totally agree with this! My parrotlet is exactly the same way.
My parrotlet did this too! Turned out it was because of boredom from lack of enrichment and mental stimulation. Once I addressed that, everything went back to normal.
When I had to travel, I used Bird Sitting Toronto and they were incredible with my parrotlet. Daily updates with photos and everything.
What worked for me was introducing new foods by eating them in front of the bird β monkey see monkey do. Took about a week but my parrotlet responded really well to it.
