Travelling with a Pionus in the GTA
Need to drive my pionus from Brampton to a vet appointment downtown. They've never been in a car before and I'm nervous. What travel cage do you recommend? Any tips to keep them calm?
I remember when my pionus went through this phase. I was so worried but my vet said it's actually really common.
Lol my pionus does the exact same thing. I've just accepted that the bird runs the house now. I'm just the food delivery service.
My vet in Milton suggested playing calming bird sounds from YouTube during the day and I noticed a change within the first week. Highly recommend.
This is peak pionus behavior honestly. They wake up and choose chaos every single day and we love them for it.
Reading this hit home. My pionus went through the same phase around the same age. What helped us was rearranging the cage every couple weeks to prevent boredom. Also just accepting that birds are gonna bird, you know?
